Bleak Expectations is a BBC radio 4 sitcom by Mark Evans. 1.Mr Benevolent as the 'Ghost of Harvest Festival Past'. 2. Joe Sentimental-Overload, a dying street urchin. 3. Phil Sykes and his dog Countdown who only understands commands in the form of anagrams. 4. The Duke of Chelsea. 5-11. The 7 Bin children returning from adventures in their wardrobe with a dead lion. 12. The Man-Elephant (a freak) and a man-mouse. 13. Ripely Bin in her guise as a professional cock-er-ney. 14. Pippa Biscuit as the Bearded Woman. 15. Harry Biscuit with a beloved swan. 16. Pip Bin with his new best seller. 17-20. Journalist Sourquill, Sir Philip, daughter Lily and grandson. 21. Young Gently Benevolent 22. His sweetheart Sweetly Delightful (pictured here kissing better a sick bird). 23. Miss Christmasham, a mad old person. 24-28. Even younger Gently Benevolent with his mother Lovely Benevolent and his three step-fathers Messers Hardthrasher, Sternbeater and Wackwallop. 29. Mr Benevo-pigeon. 30-37. Inspector Wackwallop, Dr Wackwallop (and his acting troupe), Factory owner Wackwallop- with a five legged dog, Freakshow owner Wackwallop and Bishop Wackwallop.
